Our state-of-the-art clinical laboratories provide sophisticated technology and automated equipment that allow our teams to get to answers faster and more efficiently, with a strong emphasis on applied and translational research. We are committed to the growth and advancement of the department, and fully support the active collaboration of scientists, clinicians and industry experts to develop next-generation laboratory methods. MSK is also dedicated to providing diverse educational opportunities to further develop the skills and ambitions of our Medical Technologists, Laboratory Managers, and Laboratory Directors.
We are currently seeking an experienced part-time Laboratory Technologist for our Westchester (West Harrison) location.
The successful candidate will receive a $2,500 sign-on bonus upon completion of their six month probation period.
As a Laboratory Technologist you will:
Perform and maintain competency in the technical and related work within all areas of the laboratory.
Manage the physical environment of the laboratory in accordance with New York State Department of Health, OSHA, CLIA regulations as well as with The Joint Commission.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on all laboratory matters.
Assure compliance with MSKCC policies and regulatory agency requirements.
Develop, implement, and monitor our quality assurance plan, oversee daily operations and promote a safe environment.
Annually review and revise site-specific procedures in collaboration with the MSKCC Laboratory, the Laboratory Director and the Laboratory Manager.
Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Science with 6 years minimum experience in laboratory medicine.
A NY State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License is required.
Knowledge of laboratory policy and procedures and regulations.
Excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to problem solve and work with others as well as independently.
Hours of work:
- Monday to Friday, 3pm – 8pm.
