Job Description

We are:

The Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking a laboratory technologist to join the cell-free DNA (cfDNA) extraction facility. The cfDNA lab was founded in 2014 in collaboration with the Center for Molecular Oncology to develop a fully automated cfDNA extraction method from blood (liquid biopsy). We are CLIA-certified and perform clinical and research services MSKCC-wide. To learn more about what we do, please visit us here:

  • Successful at working on multiple simultaneous projects

  • Adaptable to frequent shifts in priorities

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, while being able to envision the big picture

  • Innovative thinker

You will:

  • Perform routine sample processing, including cfDNA extraction and quantitation

  • execute experiments for R&D initiatives, including method development and validation, new product evaluation

  • Analyze experimental data and generate formal reports

  • Develop process controls

  • Perform required instrument maintenance

You have:

  • A NYS State Clinical Lab Technician certificate, Lab Technologist license or a restricted license in Molecular. Candidates without license but eligible to obtain will also be considered.

  • Position level will be determined based on applicants’ experience.
