The Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking a laboratory technologist to join the cell-free DNA (cfDNA) extraction facility. The cfDNA lab was founded in 2014 in collaboration with the Center for Molecular Oncology to develop a fully automated cfDNA extraction method from blood (liquid biopsy). We are CLIA-certified and perform clinical and research services MSKCC-wide. To learn more about what we do, please visit us here:
Highly motivated individual able to work in fast-paced environment
Able to work with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
Quick learner and self-starter
Successful at working on multiple simultaneous projects
Adaptable to frequent shifts in priorities
Highly organized and detail-oriented, while being able to envision the big picture
Perform routine sample processing, including cfDNA extraction and quantitation
execute experiments for R&D initiatives, including method development and validation, new product evaluation
Analyze experimental data and generate formal reports
Develop process controls
Perform required instrument maintenance
A NYS State Clinical Lab Technician certificate, Lab Technologist license or a restricted license in Molecular. Candidates without license but eligible to obtain will also be considered.
Position level will be determined based on applicants’ experience.
