Our Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care is seeking an experienced Education Coordinator to join our Respiratory Therapy team.
Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Confident in presenting to groups.
Participates actively with respiratory supervisors and Technical Director to effectively reach project goals and outcomes.
Highly motivated and able to collaborate with others; able to adapt to constantly changing environment.
Familiar with instructional technology and media to enhance teaching and staff learning.
Someone who follows through on commitments and who acts with a clear sense of ownership.
Able to develop curriculum goals, objectives and ongoing assessment and evaluation for program improvement.
Provide oversite to staff competency and new staff orientation.
Provide structured in-service education to Nursing, APP’s and Physicians regarding respiratory care.
Maintain records for respiratory staff competency, AHA certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS), New York State License and NBRC Credential/s.
In collaboration with the Technical Director ensure policies and procedures are developed, reviewed and revised as needed.
Maintain a CRCE program for the Respiratory Therapy Department.
Participate in Departmental Research and Development.
A minimum of a AAS in Respiratory Therapy.
Masters in related field preferred.
Registration as a NY State Respiratory Therapist.
Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with the NBRC.
Certified in BLS/ACLS/PALS, certification as instructor preferred.
A minimum of five years’ respiratory therapy critical care experience.
Experience in teaching or in clinical education is preferred.
Hours of work:
37.5 hours per week.
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Hours may require flexibility to meet the needs of night and weekend staff.
