Job Description – Senior Research Technician
The Sadelain lab is seeking a Senior Research Technician to add to their team of scientists working on cutting-edge immunotherapy research, focusing on the development of CAR T cells from induced Pluripotent stem cells (iPSC). You will provide support as well as perform independent experiments within a team of scientists. You will be involved in the execution and optimization of sensitive, long-term T cell differentiations, isolate rare populations and perform RNA and protein analysis of these populations.
Accurate, detail oriented, critical and patient in your performance, interpretation and discussion of experiments and data.
An effective communicator with good interpersonal skills, able to work in a group as well as with outside collaborators
Action oriented and eager to take initiative, perform tasks with a sense of urgency and importance
Enthusiastic and excited about the research topics studied
Perform independent tissue-culture based experiments including pluripotent stem cell differentiations, flow cytometry, CBA bead array, cytotoxicity assays, flow cytometry- and bead-based cell isolations and RNA extractions.
Prepare laboratory equipment, instruments, solutions, assays and other supplies as instructed for research experiments.
Maintain accurate and detailed computer and paper records
Respond to and complete tasks as instructed by the P.I. and staff associated with designated research projects by carrying out the requested activities.
Provide assistance with other on-going research for peers and research personnel in the laboratory by completing tasks related to the projects within the deadline specified
Perform necessary analysis and calculations, records data and writes reports on research findings.
Responsible to maintain inventory and purchase equipment and materials for the laboratory.
Bachelor Degree in Biology with 3+ years of related laboratory experience or Master Degree with at least 1 year of related experience.
Significant tissue culture experience is required, stem cell experience is a bonus
Comfortable with flow cytometry performance and analysis
A minimum 2 year commitment is required
