Job Description

The Integrated Genomics Operation (IGO) is the data production engine of the Center for Molecular Oncology (CMO). Our laboratory supports basic, translational and clinical research with a wide range of genomics platforms. IGO is a highly automated laboratory that follows Lean laboratory principles.We are currently seeking aResearch Technicianto join our team and assist in the development of oursingle-cell genomics platforms. Our aim is to use single cell and other genomic technologies to map the course of tumor evolution.

As a Research Technician, you will learn to:

  • Operate and maintain robotic and optical instrumentation

  • maintain and work in a class 10k clean room environment

  • dissociate tissues into single cells, in collaboration with pathologists.

  • assist in the implementation of experimental protocols

  • work with material ranging from dissociated single cells to sequencing-ready dna libraries

  • meticulously record experimental details on a daily basis

  • work with the lab manager to maintain consumables inventory for your workflows

  • evaluate results and troubleshoot assays as required

  • read scientific literature to develop a detailed understanding of your work

  • use the lab information management system (lims), ilabs and other software to track samples, experiments and data qc metrics

  • maintain a lean environment in the laboratory

  • Highly comfortable with mathematics and stoichiometry

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a Biological, Chemistry, or Science-related field with undergraduate lab experience and excellent references. A track record of academic excellence.Previous molecular biology experience (handling cells, DNA, RNA) preferred.#LI-POST
