The Physician Billing Department (PBD) is seeking an Insurance Group Leader (GL) to assist the Insurance Supervisor in the team’s daily operations. The Insurance GL will help ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments and department responsibilities and goals and will assume responsibility for team’s daily operations in the absence of the Supervisor. This person will also assist with training and orientation of new employees. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a supervisory or analytical career path.
Coordinate the clerical work of the department; prioritizing daily assignments of self and others to ensure all work is completed efficiently and effectively
Follows all applicable departmental and institutional policies and procedures related to billing and promotes the prevention, detection, and resolution of instances of noncompliance with departmental and institutional billing policies and procedures
Perform quality assurance checks to ensure Compliance with departmental policy and procedures.
Provide development and training opportunities to staff and act as an expert resource by answering questions and mentoring staff towards achieving team goals
Provide feedback to Supervisor on new employee’s performance and job knowledge.
Monitor staff time sheets to ensure accurate reporting
Follow up on ad hoc projects as assigned by management
Adhere to Center/departmental guidelines regarding administration issues and perform administrative duties as directed by management
Detail oriented; able to identify trends in insurance denials
Comfortable asking questions, seeking opinions and presenting information to managers
Able to think quickly in a fast-paced environment
2-4 years of relevant healthcare experience
Working knowledge of third party payer reimbursement
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degreepreferred
