The International Center is seeking a Patient Financial Services Counselor to resolve the hospital accounts of Adult Foreign National patients. The PFS Counselor will collect outstanding hospital balances and respond to inquiries about hospital statements and billing policy and procedures.
Respond to patient’s questions about hospital and physician bills including billing policy, charges and distribution of payments.
Review insurance and if it appears to meet departmental guidelines, contact insurance carrier to determine details on coverage.
Monitor inpatient and outpatient foreign national accounts from initial registration/admission to final resolution by reviewing trial balances and receivable reports according to departmental policies and procedures
Follow up through face-to-face and telephone discussions and collection letters to obtain payment on all hospital and physician balances.
Enter smart cards and referral messages in the Patient Accounts system according to departmental guidelines, enter action taken on monthly Web report, and collect statistics for operational purposes.

A Bachelor’s Degree.
At least 2 years of experience in Patient accounts or physician billing at a medical facility or in a physician’s office; employed by an insurance carrier.
