Job Details:

The Department of Medical Physics is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to assist with designing, fabricating, and maintaining biomedial equipment systems. The department has a long history of innovation in radiation oncology (anticancer treatment with precision-controlled radiation beams), nuclear medicine (imaging with radioactive materials), and radiology. In this role, you will design, fabricate, and maintain mechanical instruments and biomedical equipment systems.

You Will:

  • Designs mechanical instruments, equipment, and biomedical equipment systems for clinical and research applications, as per requester’s specifications or conceptual idea.

  • Uses AUTOCAD CAD system to develop drawings and specifications with enough detail to produce the item

  • Fabricates repairs and modifies mechanical instruments and equipment for clinical and research applications per requester’s or manufacturer’s specifications.

  • Fabricates mechanical devices with the aid of drawings, sketches and verbal descriptions, using hand and power tools as well as all common machine tools. Selects materials appropriate for the devices.

  • Coordinates and directs the preventive Maintenance program of Radiation Oncology equipment.

  • Repairs equipment devices as per manufacturer’s specifications.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Master’s Degree preferred

  • 4-7 years of experience as service engineer of biomedical machines in radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, or diagnostic radiology
