Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager with an advanced background in Materials Management/Supply Chain to join the team at our new facility scheduled to open in 2019. If you are passionate about what you do and looking to make an impact, then this might be the role for you.

The David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care, between 73rd and 74th Streets, in Manhattan, will provide a dynamic outpatient setting for leading-edge cancer treatments. The 23-story, 750,000-square-foot building is the latest example of MSK’s creative approaches to redesigning the way cancer care is delivered.

You will:

  • Responsible for overseeing all operations and staff management in assigned job groups including the administrative, operational and technical activities in a brand new high-volume outpatient facility.

  • Ensure efficiency and quality service related to Receiving, Loading Dock, Mailroom, Procurement, Distribution, Linen and associated outside vendors.

  • Actively identifies, develops and implements processes to ensure efficiency within assigned groups. Modifies processes taking into consideration the needs of clinical operations, changing organizational needs, and availability of more efficient and/or effective new technologies.

  • Keeps abreast of new developments, activities, and improvements in Materials Management, Supply Chain and Logistics.

  • Collaborates with directors, site managers and nursing leadership to ensure needs are met.

  • Develops standards; ensures assignments are designed to meet these standards within the designated time frames.

  • Monitors and forecasts workloads; recommends changes in assignments and/or staffing levels to best achieve required outcomes.

  • Provides technical and non-technical guidance to staff to ensure that work assignments are being done expertly and by following the best possible procedures.

  • Oversees schedules to ensure that routine and non-routine activities are correctly prioritized and fairly delegated to staff members.

  • Anticipates impact of special/emergency requests on daily workload and implements plans to meet these needs, ensuring work completion within required time frames. Notifies appropriate managers and staff when necessary.

  • Manages and monitors all activities to ensure compliance with departmental and Center policies as well as outside regulatory agencies. Makes certain that all required documentation is maintained. Follows up and corrects any deficiencies immediately.

  • Reviews and modifies departmental policies and procedures on a regular basis to ensure all are current.

  • Intercedes, as necessary, to resolve departmental problems, monitors resolution and follows up to prevent future occurrences.

  • Manages and administers training programs, including those for Helios, UPS, Vuetura, Sciquest, Helios, and others as assigned.

  • Responsible for oversight of the departmental budget, including the preparation of both the operating and capital budgets for senior leadership review.

Is your background a fit?

You need:

  • 2-4 years Materials/Supply Chain experience required

  • 7-10 years Management experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
