As part of the Strategy and Innovation department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, theDesign Ops Manageris an integral part of the Design Innovation Group leadership. We are looking for someone to partner in the development of the people, processes and priorities that bring human-centered design to life.
We are seeking a leader with a solid background in design management, including a successful track record managing designers. Experience in a complex non-design-led organization is a plus.
Managing a cross-disciplinary team of design strategists (with backgrounds in service design, UX, organizational design, behavioral design, design research, etc) with a focus on thoughtful professional development and capacity building on an individual and individual level.
Evaluating and implementing tools for research, design and team management/culture.
Collaborating and coordinating with team leads to establish, implement and maintain a knowledge management system.
Recruiting design talent.
Designing onboarding experience for new team members and “reboot” experiences for tenured staff.
Cultivating opportunities to share work both internally and externally.
Bridging the design, leadership, development and operational partners to create collaborative relationship sand opportunities.
Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10 years of experience in Design/Management
Master's Degree preferred but not required
Experience managing design teams and projects required
In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, four years of job-related work experience can be accepted.
