The MSK Enterprise Data Group in the Information Systems department is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead data driven initiatives to enhance MSK’s data architecture, data management, data visualization and analytics capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, managing and executing data driven information technology projects from inception to completion. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about data and excited to positively impact knowledge and decisions made throughout the organization in support of MSK’s mission to control and cure cancer.
You Will Also:
Manage multiple complex enterprise data projects requiring coordination of internal and external resources and schedules
Build and manage relationships across MSK and with outside companies that supply products and services to MSK’s IT organization
Assign and secure resources required for all phases of a project
Document and present all aspects of the project life cycle
Constantly monitor progress on project plans by following-up on assigned tasks against the timeline to ensure the planned project completion
Act as an advisor to the project team so they can meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems
Ensure that vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations by delivering quality products and services on time
Establish and maintain appropriate protocols for all types of emergency situations
Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
A good decision-maker, with proven success in making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward
An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communication strategies based on that understanding
Able to work effectively in an environment that contains complex, sometimes contradictory information
Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances
Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
Adept at building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals
Resilient in recovering from setbacks and skilled at finding detours around obstacles
Able to operate effectively, even when things are not clear or the way forward is not obvious
Adept at learning quickly, applying insights from past efforts to new situations
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. Master’s Degree preferred
7-10 years experience, with a minimum of 2 years IT project management experience
