The Intranet Content Specialist will use his/her passion for online communications and engagement to support the continued development of our enterprise social intranet, OneMSK. S/he will be part of the internal communications team, reporting to the Enterprise Social Intranet Manager and working closely with the Director of Internal Communications. The Intranet Content Specialist will provide architecture, design, implementation and ongoing support to community managers by creating individual web pages and community sites. The role requires experience with SharePoint, the platform on which OneMSK is built, tech savvy, and skill at presenting complex information in a creative, engaging layout on a web page. Integral to this role is the ability to guide conversations with community managers and create relevant content (tips, videos, info graphs) that meets their goals. The Intranet Content Specialist will be able to act as a proxy when the Enterprise Social Intranet Manager is unavailable. Design ability and website development experience is necessary.
The Intranet Content Specialist job responsibilities include:
Content Management/Web Production
Develop and design web pages for our SharePoint Intranet, OneMSK.
Create wireframes and help users build out their OneMSK presence.
Act as content manager for department sites as needed (managing libraries, posting communications, editing)
Encourage and support the use of OneMSK, e.g., participate in conversations in social, share success stories, generate enthusiasm for OneMSK among employees.
Collaborate with Information Systems team to resolve/prevent technological issues as well as plan for/integrate updates and new Sitrion and SharePoint functionality.
Coordinate with Community Managers to identify trends or key group interests or concerns or to provide advice on OneMSK page decisions.
Monitor and respond to all OneMSK inquiries received via email.
Community and Social Collaboration Development
Counsel and provide support to community managers on OneMSK functionality, design and website structure.
Assist in the development and implementation of innovative approaches to grow and engage communities.
Regularly moderate OneMSK activity and metrics. Assist in the development of best practices for using the platform and share these with the OneMSK community.
Partner with the IS department to assist in the creation of new communities and sites as requests come in.
Promote OneMSK by helping to develop and deliver various training programs, workshops, road shows, etc.
Build out OneMSK Help & Feedback community and refine training materials posted here.
Stay informed about social media developments, emerging technologies, communications best practices and trends in the social media field.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Skill in using Microsoft SharePoint features and functions, including but not limited to: site creation, content organization, tagging, and the use of metadata.
Design experience, including skill in using Photoshop and a working familiarity with Illustrator.
Demonstrated understanding of social networking best practices.
Knowledge of web design, web development and an understanding of online marketing.
Basic user interface and HTML knowledge.
Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
Positive attitude, detail- and customer-oriented, with good multitasking and organizational ability
Experience with Sitrion (formerly Newsgator) and a working familiarity with all administrative interfaces and functions, including but not limited to creating and editing profiles and spheres.
