We are looking for a Design Strategist to join the Design Innovation Group at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In this role, you will bring a combination of systems-oriented and human-centered design approaches to contribute strategic design vision that is relevant and meaningful to end users (patients, family members, clinicians, and staff) while also providing strategic impact to the institution more broadly.
Engaging diverse partners in design thinking processes to critically reframe and scope design problems.
Crafting narrative solutions to communicate value to partners and users.
Visualizing and communicating complex relationships and systems.
Implementing Design Research tools and frameworks to identify relevant and actionable opportunities.
Prototyping and testing diverse service touchpoints at a human scale with actual users.
Evangelizing the value of design within healthcare and its impact on the cancer care experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Service Design, Communication Design, User Experience Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or related design discipline.
4-7 years of experience in a consultative design or innovation practice
Previous work in design strategy, UX, service design, or design research is required.
Proven experience crafting innovative design solutions within complex service systems is a plus.
Master's degree preferred
able to employ human-centered design methodologies and practice
Deliver human-centered, creative, and implementable design concepts
Collaborate effectively with designers and multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to run multiple projects
