The Pamer Lab is looking for a talented Data Analyst. This individual will be responsible for data management and analysis of several ongoing microbiome-focused studies, in addition to assisting with the growth of future projects. Primary responsibilities include the analysis of a variety of microbial sequencing data types–amplicon (16S rRNA), metagenomic whole genome shotgun sequencing, and metatranscriptomics–of microbial communities detected within human and murine samples. This individual will also be involved in the development of bioinformatics pipelines, workflows, and visualization tools.

Interested in the analysis of large genomic datasets and the development of new clinical technologies.
A detail-oriented, effective communicator with an ability to build strong relationships.
Provide bioinformatics support for next-generation sequencing applications to characterize the full spectrum of clinically significant 16s rRNA bacterial communities
Work with research scientists and collaborators as well as clinicians within Infectious Diseases, Bone Marrow Transplant, and the Center for Microbes, Inflammation, and Cancer core facility
Track specimens and experimental parameters from clinical research database
Present results and progress updates at group meetings and make presentations to scientific and clinical collaborators
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to develop effective collaborative relationships with individuals at all levels
Ability to work as part of a team identifying and addressing and identifying opportunities for quality improvement
Master’s Degree in Biostatistics, Public Health or related field
Experience with R or Python coding
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required#LI-SB1
