Job Description

The Central Processing Department is responsible for the high level disinfection and sterilization of medical devices to support clinical activities throughout the institution.

Do you thrive in a dynamic environment and work well with others? We are currently seeking a supervisor to lead quality assurance, and process improvement in the Central Processing Department. You will oversee these programs while providing ongoing staff training, generate scheduled reports, and represent the department on assigned committees.

Under the direction of the CPD Manager, the CPD Supervisor of Training & QA will be responsible for the supervision of departmental QA staff, on all shifts, assigned to the MSK main campus. You will also be responsible to plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive orientation program for CPD staff members. You will partner with other supervisors to provide individual staff training and in-service education as required. CPD is a 24/7 operation, this role requires the flexibility to work all shifts, when necessary.

  • Develop, educate, and maintain written standards relevant to the Central Sterile Processing department.

  • Be a role model for professional practice, attitude, and philosophy of the Central Service profession.

  • Monitor staff performance and initiate actions to correct deficiencies when necessary.

  • Coordinate departmental work quality assurance programs and complete annual staff core competency assessment with the input of departmental leadership team.

  • Ensure that all staff practices are in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and ensure departmental goals and customer needs are being met.

  • Develop annual staff continuing education programs with input from leadership team.

  • Oversee in-service programs for all personnel ensuring that they provide the necessary knowledge and skills to meet core competency of each job position.

  • Ensure staffs are trained on all Information System application functionality as required.

  • Serve as a liaison between department and information system, vendors, and system users.

  • Periodically evaluate information system functions and make recommendations regarding ongoing system use or the evaluation of new systems.

  • Ensure staff compliance with departmental and institutional safety and Infection Control policies and procedures.

  • Check equipment for proper operation; responds to equipment breakdowns immediately by troubleshooting and/or contacting appropriate individuals for repairs; follow-up to ensure resolution.


  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent education.

  • A CPD Certification.

  • Excellent Computer Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience.


  • Fulltime hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm M-F with flexibility to cover evenings, nights, and weekends.
