Job Details:

The Community Outreach Assistant (COA) plays a vital role within the Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities Service, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The assistant executes outreach research programs and protocols. As an integral member of the research team and in compliance with all regulatory, institutional, and departmental requirements, performs data collection, data entry and data analysis for research projects, databases, and research protocols for the IHCD Service. Maintains close relationships with partnering agencies/institutional staffs. Conducts research programs/protocols within appropriate guidelines and regulations. Ensures data quality and integrity during each phase of data collection and for each protocol assigned.

Monday-Friday; 9:00am-5:00pm

The COA will mainly be working at MSKCC’s 485 Lexington Avenue office, but will also spend approximately 50% time at various community sites, events, and programs.

You Have:

  • Fluency in Spanish

  • Minimum of a high school diploma plus 2 years of experience working in or with community-based outreach research OR a Bachelors degree (preferred)

  • Experience working in or with community based outreach research with a focus on service and research health-related programs strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated interest in health disparities; knowledge of Mexican immigrant communities

  • Strong program management and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of SPSS a plus
