Job Details:

The Gene Transfer facility develops, validates and implements procedures critical to gene transfer-related clinical research at Memorial Sloan Kettering. It also operates and maintains the Cell Therapy and Cell Engineering Facility which manufactures cell therapy products for the treatment of various solid tumors, leukemia, B-cell malignancies and viral diseases in an environment compliant with NIH and FDA regulations. Gene therapy products are tested before release to demonstrate compliance with safety and efficacy specifications. They are also tested from various patient samples after infusion to survey expansion in vivo and monitor patient responses.

The Gene Transfer facility quality system that ensures compliance of the facility with cGMP and governs manufacturing and testing requires excellent data management to allow traceability and analysis. This is a prerequisite for auditing, addressing non-conformance and quality improvement. Data analysis and correlative studies also contribute to the quality improvement approach by laying the cornerstone for assay revision and implementation of new technologies. We are looking for a talented Cell Manufacturing Assistant to join our team.

You will:

  • Support testing, assay development and data management as follows:

  • Test gene therapy products and patient samples with various molecular, cellular and immuno-enzymatic assays

  • Maintain database up to date

  • Contribute to assay improvement or innovation

  • Support organization and supervision of testing activities

  • Contribute to writing and revising SOP

You need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Master’s is desirable

  • Strong knowledge and solid experience in the field of flow cytometry, real time PCR and cell culture.

  • 3 years of technical experience in a clinical and/or research laboratory is required, not including university practical.#LI-SB1
