We are seeking aBioinformatics Software Engineerto help develop IOExplorer, an analytics web application that will allow the broader medical community access to the data being generated at The Immunogenomics and Precision Oncology Platform (IPOP).
The IPOP is a newly established program dedicated to developing precision immunotherapy at MSK. The program's goal is to use state-of-the-art approaches to unravel the molecular determinants of response to immunotherapy and to optimize immunotherapeutics such as immune checkpoint inhibitors and neoantigen-based vaccines using large scale analyses.

Develop, deploy, and be the head engineer of IOExplorer, an analytic web application for cancer immunotherapy, one of the most promising areas in cancer research.
Work closely with other developers, bioinformaticians, and experimental biologists in a dynamic and exciting academic environment at the nexus of cancer biology, computer science, statistics and clinical research to sketch out requirements for IOExplorer
Develop novel analytical and visualization tools for immunotherapy related data, especially data related to T-cell sequencing.
Curate immunotherapy related datasets generated from outside institutions
Bachelors degree in a scientific, engineering, or mathematical discipline with 2+ years of programming experience or Masters degree with 0-2 years of programming experience
Relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, Postgres) and/or modern noSQL database systems.
Experience with MongoDB
Experience with Docker
Experience deploying an application to AWS
Experience with Git
Experience with R/Bioconductor experience
Experience with Plotly.py / Plotly Dash
Experience with Flask
Experience with CircleCI
Basic knowledge of biology
Knowledge of bioinformatics algorithms, statistics, and software tools Prior experience with analyzing “omics” data (RNA-seq, Whole-exome)
