Job Details:

The Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering is a multidisciplinary center for excellence for the treatment and care of children, teenagers, and young adults with cancer and blood disorders. Comprising leading experts in the treatment of pediatric malignancies and immune deficiencies, our staff is dedicated to seeking novel approaches to achieve more-effective outcomes while reducing or minimizing the short- and long-term effects of treatment, both in the laboratory and in our state-of-the-art facilities. We are seeking Administrative Assistants to provide support to multiple Pediatric Service Chiefs and senior leaders.

You Will:

  • Manage and maintain academic and research oriented medical practices, provide administrative support to the Service and assist the management team in support of the service/team as necessary.

  • Perform various clerical and administrative duties, including but not limited to a strong focus in physician calendar management, grant submission, recruitment/promotions, organizing extensive travel itineraries, coordinating meetings, processing reimbursements, meeting minutes, and special projects to contribute to the smooth operations of the department.

  • Prepare/produce accurate documents including memos, correspondence, reports, presentations, and manuals as required.

  • Complete required paperwork/communication tools for department.

  • Answer assigned phone lines and direct incoming calls; use correct telephone techniques and procedures when receiving and making calls; cross-cover other lines as assigned.

  • Assist and participates in departmental projects.

  • Use your strong customer service and multi-tasking abilities to support a practice by providing administrative support to the clinical and lab teams.

You Have:

  • Bachelors degree preferred plus one year of experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Grants and contracts experience preferred

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Ability to provide a 2 year commitment

  • Strong prioritization, attention to detail and organizational skills #LI-POST
