Senior Medical Photographer

Under the director of the Nurse Leader and in collaboration with medical/administrative leadership, the Sr. Medical Photographer (SMP) plans, directs, and manages the operational functions of the medical photography team at assigned MSK locations. The SMP performs all phases of complex patient, specimen, and photomicrography to be used as teaching and /or medical/legal aids. Leadership responsibilities include:

  • Photography Team Management ensuring job duties are completed accurately, thoroughly and within specified time frames.

  • Ensures that patient care standards reflect best practices that are evidence based and are consistent with photographic industry and hospital standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Develops and sustains an environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice, patient care, and unit team functioning.

  • Identifies need for new/revised standards based on new technology, physical facility changes or additions, new processes, or generic or recurring photography problems.

  • Collaborates with clinical and administrative staff in developing and implementing new programs.

  • Participates in capital and operational budget development and preparation.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography or Biomedical Communications along with a minimum of 2 solid years of medical photography experience.

MS degree and leadership experience preferred. BCLS preferred.

Hours: 8 hour shifts flexed between 8am and 5pm Monday – Friday.
