Job Details:

The Fundraising Events team is seeking a passionate, strategic, creative, highly motivated Digital Communications and Data Coordinator to join its communications team. MSK’s Fundraising Events team produces peer-to-peer fundraising programs year-round. Donations from all programs go to pioneering research and clinical trials, and have already led to new and better treatments for cancer patients worldwide.

You Will:

  • Manage the social media pages for all Fundraising Events, leading the editorial calendar and complete workflow of content ideation, creation, and implementation.

  • Lead online community management including social listening and response strategies.

  • Assist with social media advertising.

  • Coordinate email builds, testing, and deployment.

  • Monitor, track, report, and champion ongoing recommendations to continuously improve communications through data and insights to meet the programs’ recruitment and fundraising goals.

  • Support the communications team in various projects, e.g. influencer, video, sponsorship, and website.

  • Report to the Fundraising Events Communications Manager, and work across all Fundraising Events programs (Cycle for Survival, Fred’s Team, and Kids Walk).

  • A strategic thinker who enjoys unearthing insights from data.

  • Detail oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously with enthusiasm and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

  • A skilled writer and content creator with a knack for adapting copy and tactics based on the audience, goals, program, tone, voice, and platform.

  • Passionate about storytelling, proactive in sharing your ideas, and consistently challenging yourself.

  • A positive, collaborative team player who takes significant pride in individual success, helping others, as well as the success of the team.

  • Innovative and constantly curious about social media, email, and content marketing trends, platforms, and best practices.

You Have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum 2-3 years work experience in digital analytics, marketing communications, and/or content creation for social media and email marketing.

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • A detailed eye for copyediting and proofreading.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Proven experience tailoring content for different platforms and audiences.

  • Exceptional knowledge of online marketing: social media, email, and websites.

  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics, website tracking, and social analytics.

  • Fundraising and development experience is a plus.

  • Proficiency in MS Office.

About Fundraising Events:

Cycle for Survival is the fastest-growing fundraising event in the country. Over $140 million has been raised since 2007 to fund rare cancer research. In 2017 alone, 31,000 people rode at the indoor team cycling events in 16 cities totaling $34 million raised from 200,000 donors.

Fred’s Team participants run marathons and other races all over the world to support lifesaving cancer research at MSK. Official events include the TCS New York City Marathon, Marine Corps Marathon, and the United Airlines NYC Half.

Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer is an upbeat, family-friendly walkathon. The walk is held every spring in Central Park and supports pediatric cancer research at MSK.
