Job Details:

The Case Management Assistant, Insurance Liaison will Coordinate the administrative and clerical aspects of the insurance appeals program of the Case Management Department. He/ She will maintain databases and formulate reports as directed and is responsible to coordinate all low-tech referrals for home care services received from the MSK outpatient areas.

You Will:

  • Review, evaluate and forward all correspondence internally within the Case Management Department and external departments within MSKCC, including batching of all correspondence for optical scanning. Daily review and screening of fax correspondence from insurance carriers and review organizations. Coordinate for follow up, refer and report discrepancies in data to appropriate staff and management.

  • Maintain departmental database of denials and appeals.

  • Provide timely and accurate data entry of denials, appeals and updates through resolution. Maintain tracking system to ensure timely follow up of denials received and appeals submitted as a response to the denials. Execute weekly follow up on appeals submitted to review organizations, and insurance companies. Utilize SMS, DMS, Filenet and TQ.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all communications.

  • Be responsible for daily coordination of low-tech referrals for home care received from the MSK outpatient department.

  • Work: Monday – Friday 9:00AM- 5:00PM

You Have:

  • High School Diploma / GED with 2-4 years experience

  • Beginner Billing and Collections Background

  • Intermediate Knowledge of MSKCC Systems-SMS
