Job Details:

MSK is seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to join Dr. Luis Diaz’s new Solid Tumor Team . Under supervision of the group leader, will provide support to research projects at the Center by designing, developing, and implementing software tools for processing and analyzing high-throughput next-generation sequencing data. In addition, will provide one-on-one consultation and training to research scientists and bioinformatics and software engineers at the Center in the use of bioinformatics software tools and databases.

You Will:

  • Process and analyze data from high-throughput next-generation sequencing

  • Design, develop, and operate software and databases as part of bioinformatics data processing and analysis system

  • Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation

  • Provide consultation and guidance to research scientists, as well as other bioinformatics and software engineers, at the Center

  • Train researchers in the use of computational and bioinformatics tools and develop training modules

You Need:

  • Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Mathematics

  • Bachelor’s degree and related or equivalent experience

  • Cross-disciplinary and strong analytic skills, as well as broad experience with bioinformatics methods, software and computer programming languages are essential
